Richard Wood
has nine tours of Europe and two of Japan under his belt, two East Coast Music Awards, five CDs, appearances on The David Letterman Show and Good Morning America with Country superstar Shania Twain and mainstage appearances at folk festivals across Canada and Europe.
Richard has also toured extensively with The Chieftains in America, Japan and Europe and has participated in many radio and television specials, including CBC's Celtic Electric, which also featured Natalie MacMaster, The Rankins and Jean Butler of Riverdance fame. He picked up the fiddle for the first time when he was 11, and at the age of 12 he won The Don Messer Memorial Trophy, an all ages Maritime fiddling competition. Richard is also a champion step dancer.
